Support for the Barrington Land Conservation Trust

The Chart House Realtors team is PROUD to partner as a Presenting Sponsor for the Barrington Land Conservation Trust!

As an active business in the Barrington community, we’ve long considered the importance of environmental preservation and the importance of supporting organizations that work to protect Rhode Island’s natural resources. By donating to the BLCT, you can make a direct and positive impact on our local ecosystem!

The Barrington Land Conservation Trust is a nonprofit organization that is entirely volunteer-driven. Since 1979, The BLCT has been responsible for preserving nearly 300 acres of natural land in the Barrington area! As more land becomes available, the BLCT needs the support of Barrington & Rhode Island residents to continue maintaining the land.

Conservation & Preservation of our town’s natural landscapes is crucial for the protection and betterment of Barrington’s animals and plant life. Through sponsorships and donations, the work of the Barrington Land Conservation Trust can continue undisturbed, and we’ll all be able to enjoy our natural landscapes for decades to come.

To kick off our partnership, the Barrington Land Conservation Trust will hold the first of a series of educational sessions on Monday, April 3 at 6:30 PM. The 2023 Land Trust Learning Series will begin with a presentation on Saltmarsh Degradation by Dr. Mark Bertness of Brown University.

As the BLCT puts it:

“Conservation of the surviving local marshes is not an easy task, since the most severe current threats are not local, but global. These large-scale problems impact coastal wetlands across the globe. Dr. Bertness will examine how these factors, individually and collectively, are leading to rapid degradation of Narragansett Bay marshes and the entire East Coast of North America.”

The event will take place at the Barrington Public Library (281 County Road, Barrington, RI 02806). It is the perfect opportunity for residents to get in tune with our environment and learn more about what YOU can do to protect it.
