East Bay Market Update – February 24, 2021

I recently stopped into a local mortgage lender’s office to say hello to a friend with whom Chart House does a fair amount of business. I was there for a quick “hello” and to say an impromptu “thank you” for all the hard work this person does on behalf of our clients. While visiting, she remarked about how impressed she is with our team, and specifically with the people that we have in our office. She talked about how hard we work and how focused we are on the people that we serve. Of course, I was thankful for the kind words and couldn’t agree more with the things that she had to say. However, when I left that office I really started to think more about what she said.

I realized that I hear comments like this fairly often about the people on this team. I feel the same way myself, and I somewhat expect to hear this to some degree, because after all, this is what we set out to do. This goal is what we work on each and every day in this office, so it feels “normal” to hear compliments like this. However, I realized as the day went on that this is not normal. This is special, and this is what sets us apart.

What makes everything possible are the people within the organization. Somehow, I’ve been lucky enough to surround myself with people of the best character and a strong work ethic, which is an uncommon combination in a sales environment. These qualities are not taught or learned over time in the industry, but are innate within this team. They are the difference-makers for this business and for our clients. These personality traits combined with an amazing team atmosphere that is centered around learning the business, the market, and improving the ways in which we can best serve our clients is where the magic happens. All of these reasons are why I find myself repeatedly hearing about what great people are around me, and why our clients and colleagues are continually impressed with the work that they are doing.

At the end of the day, everyone in this industry is “selling real estate.” That’s how we earn a living. The difference with the people around me is that they care deeply about serving their clients’ interests, and hold themselves accountable to a very high standard. It has become more than just selling real estate. We are in the business of providing valuable information and advocacy for our clients. We are constantly seeking new ways to provide more value to our clients and to perform our job at a level that is above and beyond the standards.

So, with that in mind, we have some interesting information, data, photographs, and other materials that roll out in this blog each week and in our emails, social media posts, and other platforms. It is important for us to do this because it helps us stay on top of the market and what is happening with inventory and actual real estate trends.  Ultimately, however, the real key is the amazing people on this team and the little things that they do each and every day through their hard work and dedication to their profession. That is what helps us serve our clients so well and can make a difference to you in a real estate transaction.

Here is this week’s market update.
